I remember my first sub....

What I've Owned.

My first pair of subs was two Road Master 8's i got from walmart for $20 each. Blew one and sold the other for $15.

Then two Pioneer 10's I took from my dad's old HT gear. They are somewhere now.

Followed by two Audiobahn "Natural Sound" 10's. Sold to thenoobpoopler a while ago.

Followed by two Audiobahn Alum 12's sold one, plugged the other into the wall.

Followed by a Tempest 15, sold it and got an SE 15 sold the SE 15 locally for more than I paid for it.

Then I got my avalanche 18 which was the first to actually go into a car.

Bought some 12" from kent for the 250w plate amp on the back of it.

now I have a Mag 15, looking to eventually get another or put a 12 into each rear door after im done with my senior project.

Ive been driving for less than 2 years but have been into audio since I was like 12.

My first subwoofer was a 10" PPI flat sub, in a tiny-tiny box. It was powered by a 300watt PPI Art series amp. I also had a little PPI crossover 2-way crossover, because the amp didn't have a high-pass built in.
Those subs were awesome. I almost bought a pair of the 12s from my friend.

My first subs were two MTX terminators that I found in a junkyard in working condition. The guy let me have them because he thought they didn't work. Man those subs were ghetto and smelled like ***.

2 12"pyramid superblues 150watt profile california amp! ahh yes the good ole days!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I still have my art series 600.1, 400.4, 12"flatty!

when are you going to plug that 12 into the wall?
robin is building me a box for my room for it, and im gonna use it in my room on my behringer ep1500 until it comes til to install it in my truck, then ill recone it to the 15, and i guess just buy another 12 for the room. or buy another 15 for the car and keep the 12 for the room...ya that would make more sense lol

MT in home? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

HT subs generally have low distortion pattens, good BL over X, and lots of linear displacement.

MT doesnt care about distortion, has lots of BL in a small ammount of movement, and linear displacement isnt needed, motor force is.

Youc an try it out but I'd think you would be happier with something like a Mag 15 or 12 in home. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

my first subs were a pair of audiobahns awc12t and a SPL amp had many hu's a legacy a sony and now i got pioneer have had a bandpass box and a single sealed built like shit lol now i got 2 pioneer 12s with a sealed box and a digital audio amp

My very first sub wasn't a single sub.It was a Kicker all-in-one prefab that was labeled as a Kicker Super II (the older folks on the forum may or may not remember those)

Had a pair of Kicker 8s front-firing bordered by a pair of Motorola horn tweeters. It was designed to sit up at an angle on a pair of "legs" that came with the enclosure because on the bottom of the box was a pair of downfiring 10" passive radiators.

On a 75 + 75 watt Yamaha amp it didn't sound too terrible for a novice's first foray into having a real substage included in their setup. (bear in mind this would have been the summer of '91 or so)
lol....pimpin'

mine was the all in one box MTX Blue Thunders with the mids and tweets right in the box.....coupled that to a kenwood 820 amp and a MEI cassette deck. summer of '88

My first amp was a Splash Neon Series 302. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif It still beats up speakers too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i had 2 10" REAL oldschool kickers, they had the name "kicker" accross the middle written in yellow pipes, with a purple underline, i want to say that they were solo's but, im not sure if they were around then, but for some reason i thought they were, this was like 14/15 years ago...i think they were like 200 watts...had a nice set of cerwin vegas after that...
