I ran into a problem

Well I got my new amp yesterday zx1000.1, i ran all the wire and hooked everything up to my best knowledge. The amp is getting power the light is on but the sub does not move at all. All wires are connected.

I think it could possibly be my RCA's, not really sure why but i have a gut feeling. If its not the RCA's i have no idea. I hope its not in the amp.

My deck is a alpine 9831 by the way.

Well have you checked your RCA's? Triple check all your connections. Make sure all are tight and that the ground is touching bare metal and not any paint/primer.

i'm no einstein but my first guess is rca's especially if the amp power light is on cuz that means its nothing to do with the power current to the amp...

Even if the amp power light is on, it might not be getting the full 12+ volts. Same thing happened to me.

It needs 12 volts to push the sub.

The ground is touching about half metal half carpet glue putty crap. Couldnt really see but i could feel it. ( I had sand paper i used it but i wasnt getting very far with it, it was a long day and i just want to get it all done )

But my friend didnt think it could be the ground, if the amp is getting power ?

What's to tell. Go fix the ground wire first. The single most important wire in the system and you have it half on the carpet and are hoping that the amp is operating correct....... don't come back here until you have a proper ground wire done. I can't beleive I just read that.....

I just sanded all the goo off the ring, and sanded all the glue off of the metal for the ground. Still the sub does not move AT ALL. Tuesday i will go and buy some new RCA's. I dont see how mine dont work. But we will find out.

Um, how about something simple here. Are you using the sub preout on the deck? If you are, is the sub turned on on the deck. Mabye try pluging the RCA's into a different set of preouts on the deck

i just went out and checked all wire in the box and dinked around with the all the wire going to and from the amp. Still nothing. I am going to take the deck out tomorrow and try my friends RCA's.

My buddy thought the sub had to be turned on from the deck also but i dont remember doing anything like that last time in my other vehicle.
