I now see why all our packages get destroyed.

random question to all you who work at ups, do they have drug dogs? My friend worked at one back in the day and said they were non existant in these types of places only in usps?
so looking for a new way to sell your drugs? lol

Basically, you get what you pay for.
If somebody came up to you and said they want you to take a 50+lb package, carefully load it onto a truck making sure it gets treated very gently, drive it across the US, and hand deliver it to somebody's door, would you do it? How about if they said they'd give you $30? Exactly...
if youve worked shipping and receiving youd know how much expediting(what you described above) services cost. one company i worked for used to spend a million dollars a month on top of our normal shipping costs for expediting. its insane what they charge!

I worked at FedEx ground a few years ago and was sickened daily at the things I witnessed. But as mentioned when the company places heavy demands packages get thrown. kicked. piled. You name it. I was an excellent worker and only had mis loads when I was SALTED. Thats when a wrong package is purposely placed on your conveyer belt to test you. If you don't catch it you get written up. After a certain amount of write ups you're either fired or suspended. So if they want to get rid of you for whatever reason they have a system in place to do this. It's such red tape bull$hit.

I had no problems until I sprained my ankle getting off a truck. After you hurt yourself they just want you GONE! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

The only way to keep your job at the facility I worked at was to be a suckass and I just wouldn't do it. Being an excellent employee with perfect attendance and great loading stats wasn't enough.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rage.gif.0ad8a6e5565b5fddce406566fdd05149.gif

All you are to these companies are ROBOTS. They could care less about regular employees. All they care about is the bonus. And they get REAL pissed when the bonus is threatened. At FedEx the bonuses are given based on the entire facilities performance.

I'll NEVER ship anything via UPS or FEdEX unless absolutely necesary. I sold an IDQ15 a few months ago and UPS was cheaper than USPS going to CAnada. But I always to my best to get things shipped USPS when I buy gear on Ebay. I just won an auction for an Alpine 9855 and sent the seller a message saying I didn't want him to use UPS. Hopefully he listens.

Negatory. I ship at UPS all the time, my inside source (works there) told me that once, he opened a package that looked like See's Candy, but it was just a bunch of crack rocks packaged safely, he neatly closed it back up and said the quote "dont ask dont tell"

And another inside source who also works there told me that he ships weed all the time, said its very safe.

*No offense to ANY UPS worker on here.. dont take it personal.*
I just had a group interview with UPS this morning, and as we walked down the long *** row of conveyer belts, and truck loading sytems, i see guys just tossing boxes from one belt to another, it made me sick. And they wonder why they get so many complaints.

Im not sure what was worse, the unloading, or the loading.

The unloading they were tossing boxes from a big semi, to this PILE of boxes, not placing, tossing boxes, denting them, and probably destroying whatever is inside. Even the boxes with 5 or more fragile stickers on them, they still just tossed them.

I will never again use UPS as a shipping method (not that i did anyways)
No shit. I worked for UPS as a truck unloader and it sucked ***. The employees basically have no choice. It's the UPS job rules. I mean you have to unload a truck, semi trailer in an hr or less....and there's 1000's of packages. It's ridiculous but I dunno how people do it. So...next time you ship something, pack the **** out of it.....esp heavy items.

i worked at ups for two weeks and had to do large and small sort.. shit was hard, had to throw 100lb shit above ur head and grab shit as it goes by the scanners.. i gave up lol.. but ya if they see fragile on it, they will throw it, or if its too heavy, the beat it

I went to a interview for package handler here to.... they were throwin shit everywhere. You have to unload a semi with 10,000 boxes in 3.5-4 hours every morning though.

this is one of thoes cases that you know it goes on, but don't want to believe it. Kinda like you know what goes in hot dogs, but you tell yourself when you're eating them "they really dont taste like a pigs ***"
