ok, the new battery helped a little bit but the bass cuts off still at higher volumes. if i rev the engine up and keep it at a steady 3k-4k RPM's, there is no voltage drop. but at idle, or anything under 3k RPM, the bass cuts out. any ideas? figured it wouldve been my battery. i also noticed when i reset my gains, everything on my HU was at 0. and my amp gain was at 0. but there was tremendous bass, i didnt even have to turn up the gain. is that normal? wouldnt think so..

Definitely an alternator problem. If you rev your engine and the problem stops, why would you assume anything else? My guess is your alternator is going bad and not charging the battery or providing enough amperage to power your system, otherwise the battery should alone be able to supply enough voltage to keep the amps powered up (at least for a while). Get it checked.

I'm confused exactly what you did. To me "resetting yours gains" means that you set your gains to the proper level again, but you seem to be saying that you simply turned the gain to zero and the output increased. Either you tuned the knob the wrong way, or we need some more explanation about what exactly you did...

when i reset my gains, i put the amp gain back at 0 to start over. then turned the volume knob up, and there was more bass with the gain at 0 then there was before i reset everything. i had it 3/4's up on the gain, bass on the HU at -3, SW control at 0. i put everything on the HU at 0, and turned my gain all the way down to redo it, figuring ifixed my voltage problem, so i could givethe L7 600 watts. but there was alot of bass response when everything was at 0, inlcuding my amp.
