Hmmm...
Interesting, I dont use UPS anyways. I have had to many things destroyed by them, now I know why...
yupthis isnt just isolated to ups anyway, almost every shipping company is this way.
Well said. Durring peak season we go from 150,000 packages a night to 300,000 a night. Instead of the hourly's getting 3 hours they get 4.I work at fed ex right now on the van lines. In my year there, i have seen alot of bad workers that don't care how your package is treated.
However the real destroyer of packages is the system its shipped in.
As mentioned before those jams will absolutley crush packages. Today I had to stop a jam (which is no safe feat believe me) and the force behind the jam when its released is unbelievably strong.
My belt does on average 4600 packages/night. It only gets heavier up to x-mas.
And because of the higher volume we do, they dont extend our hours. They simply rush the sort. So we do more packages in less time.
It happens at all shipping companies, and its a risk you take not delivering the package yourself sadly.
But I'll let you know this that if you ever ship a box to Westland, Wayne, Garden City, Or Livonia Michigan, i will take extra care of your package //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
