Altec already tried that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifjames you should coax mount ur horns to ur mids i think that'll give u the best sound.
IIRC, Ive seen any even older version of the same idea.Altec already tried that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

They actually sound pretty good, when bi-amped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
My car came with factory tweeter on the pillar up by the dash..are you saying thats not the best position for the tweeter? How are you helping?
I prefer my tweeters by my mids because they do blend easier. With it closer comb filtering is less likely and it eliminates two distant point sources coming from different directions.
I don't understand when people choose completely different locations for the mid and tweeter. If you have the tweeter in the corner of your dash and mid in the door your stage width and depth will be different for each source. When they're close the width and depth line up better.
Or for someone who can only wake up on one side of the bed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gifI have a foam mattress. no matter what side I wake up on, it's good stuff. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I wonder how would that saying would go for someone that sleeps on the floor or couch.
Define 'best'. If we were building the car around the stereo, no, that's not ideal, and would be avoided. But reality is the stereo was built around the car, so sometimes a compromise in pure acoustic theory actually works out better for the situation. My car came with factory tweeter on the pillar up by the dash..are you saying thats not the best position for the tweeter?
