Don't do competitions or anything like that. I do like to show off a bit though.

I like a lot of screaming music, things like senses fail, emery, from first to last, the devil wears prada, a day to remember, thursday, etc.

Things with fast bass guitars and fast drums.

I want to feel the screams resonate in my chest.

what subs/how big should I get?

I've been lookin at type r's. they seem to go for about 100-150$ each on craigslist around my area. price range is about $200-$300 for 2 subs.

what do you guys recommend?

my current setup:

hu: Kenwood Excelon KDC-X790

front: infinity referece coaxials, thinking about getting rainbow dreamline coaxials though for 75$ (or are components better? lol)

rear: jl audio evolution 690cx

subs: x2 12'' cvr kicker, sealed prefab box.

cabin amp: eclipse EA4100 (4x75rms)

sub amp: Sundown sae 1200.1d

Why does it have to be 2 subs?

A single 15" RE Audio SX15D2 or Fi BL 15" would be nice, or maybe even a 18" DC Level 4. Any of these would pair nicely with that Sundown amp of yours, and they're all within the $300-ish mark (give or take 15 - 20 dollars)...

Subs can play full range, but not loudly.

Meh, I have a pair of 12" Kicker CVRs in a custom ported box. Nothing exceptional there.

Type Rs are pretty impressive in output for their price. I would say look for something with a little better SQ though, maybe RE SEs?

I'm still several thousand dollars shy of attaining all of the equipment, building supplies, wiring and electrical upgrades that I'll need. But it'll come.

He could go ahead and try a slotted enclosure for those Kickers, but they sound muddy to me. Downright awful when trying to keep up with a fast double bass. At least that's the impression I get from mine.

No really though, what subs should I get?

If 12'' kickers can't keep up with a double bass then I need something else.

I'm thinking of buying a SAZ 1500.1d sundown amp.

what kinda subs should I get? what brand? what size?

and I really would like to be able to move people's hair, not some crazy hair tricks, but just a little as a 'show-off' factor. I've read you have to have a huge ported box tuned to like
