I need sound deadening :-(

I need some sound deading in my trunk. I dont have much experience with it although i know how to apply it, my doors are dynamatted. What would be good for deadening my trunk? I get a nasty rattle on the outside, which doesnt bother me, but my brother told me you can hear the rattle when i turn down the path to come home, which is like 150 yds from the house //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I get a little rattle on the inside too but not too much. Ive got a huge trunk so im gonna need alot of whatever i get. Alot of my rattling is coming from the trunk latch, tail lights, and license plate trim flexing around, so maybe i can use some expanding foam in those(not the latch)? im confused on all of it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

trunk pic for reference - took it at night so its kinda dark, tried to edit contrast though

$20 wont get you much man....

you will probably get 10 sq ft of the cheap stuff (edead)

you need a roller or something that can lay down the deadener. its pretty easy to peel fomt he foil and lay down....and the good stuff (dynamat xtreme & ss damplifier pro) does work!

Dr. Chronic

Send me a pm with your shipping address. I will send you out $20 worth of Damplifier for you to test out..

ANT

And for everyone else... Please don't send me pm's asking me for free stuff.. this is an offer for OP only..

Ok OP, you're going to need some thick heavy deadening, making panels heavier make them more resistant to moving/ rattling. FatMat is so **** thin it's rediculous. Go with Dynamat, SS Damplifier, Raamat, or Stinger Roadkill. I used fatmat before and it sucks donkey dick. It's too thin, stinks, and doesn't stick worth a shit. I used Roadkill Expert and now my trunk is pretty solid, not much noise on the outside anymore. Roadkill is on the level that Dynamat and others are, and I got it pretty cheap at my audio shop.

Deadener? Who ever is trying to sell you any amount of deadener in this thread is simply trying to take advantage of your confusion. My god, give me 5 minutes and a pack of Hubba Bubba bubble gum and all your issues will be solved. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Go to the hardware store and get some 1/8" x 1/4" weather stripping (foam) for a few dollars to separate the rattling pieces from each other.

Yea i had looked at fatmat and it looked kinda crappy, and super cheap. I like the damplifier from the reviews and whatnot ive read on it, and dynamat ofcourse. I have cheap access to dynamat but ive heard a few bad things about it too. Im gonna try the damplifier and see how it works. I see alot of people here that apply it just in the sections that are exposed as a flat panel, is this the proper way to do a trunk?

this is what im talking about >
