OK I JUST BOUGHT A PIONEER 840MP3

I HOOKED IT UP AND IM NOT RUNNING ANY SPEAKERS OF IT JUST AMPS,

WHEN I PLUGED IN MY RCAS IT WASNNT LOUD IT WAS AT VOL 1 I TURNED IT UP TO 40 AND IT WAS STILL SOUNDING LOW LIKE AT 1 NO VOLUME DIFFERANCE AND MY SUBS WONT PLAY ARE MY OUT PUTS BROKE? I PLAYED WITH ALL OF THE ADJUSTMENTS AND NOTHING WORKED SO I THOUGHT I MESSED UP MY AMPS BUT WHEN I HOOKED UP MY OLD CD PLAYER EVERYTHING WORKED GREAT

SO WHAT COULD OF HAPPENED?

AND ON ANOTHER NOTE I BLEW A FUSE IN MY CAR AND NOW I CAN ONLY GET MY RASDIO TO TURN IS TO TO CONNECT ALL THE RED AND YELLOW WIRES TOGATHER WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THAT?

I NEED SOME ANSWERS ASAP CUZ I NEED TO KNOW IF I SHOULD MAIL BACK THE RADIO?? AND I DONT WANA PAY 50 AN HOUR FOR A SHOP TO LOOK AT IT AND TELL ME ITS THE RADIO I MUST OF DONE SOMETHING WRONG THE ODDS OF GETTING A BROKE RADIO ARE HIGHLY DOUTFUL

did you make sure that the remote lines were hooked up properly?

are the amps actually 'turning on' with the new HU?

possibly the amps are going into a 'protect' mode, which would make them not play...

yes remote wires are all good, they all turn on and the 4ch amp for my speakers plays but it is not loud at all its about a volume number1 real low and im getting nothing from the subs but amps are all on and no protect lights are, when i put in my old radio another pioneer everything works fine im thinking maybe theyres a certain button i need to hit? there is a reset button for a microprocesser but i dunno what the hell that is and i hit it and nothing changed

Hey it's your lucky day because I know the answer for the low sound. Go in the audio menu to Subwoofer 1 and turn it on and then adjust your subwoofer volume from the subwoofer menu. A lot of people forget that you must go in the subwoofer set up to turn it on. Good Luck!!

Black Navi

ok

but i think i did that isnt that where u can turn if or have the phases differnt? if that is the reason why are my rcas for my 6x9 amp playing really lower then? no matter how loud i turn it up it juat stays real low? could it be a ground? well if this helps when i power up the unit it makes a loud sckretch sound so i dunno what to do

Maybe could be the ground for it not to turn on what do you have it grounded it to make sure it is bare metal no paint if there is any paint sand it down

it is a factory ground, i really dont understand whats wrong with this unit, my other pioneer works great still i just hooked it back up and everything is good as new but this new 8400 pioneer just isnt working, i cant explain it really its hard but i know i narrowed it doen to being a rca issue, why would 1 cdplayer work fine and then u take it iut and the other 1 is ****ed up? i really do not wana thinkpioneer has shity radios but, i just dont know what to do i think im going to send it back and get a ALPINE!!!, i dunno but heres the low down when i install this pioneer8400 i connect all the power wires and ground and remote then i hook up 1 set of rcas to the front set on the unit and then the subwoofers rcas to the sub out put on the unit when i turn the unit on, i get a fuzzy sound and very very low play out of this unit it sounds like its on about volume number 1 and when i turn it up to like 30- or even 50 iut still sounds low like on a volume numer 1 no differance in volume when i turn it up or down, could this unit be ****ed up? it really sucks i was looking foward to installing this all week and now i get shited on

do you think maybe ups was a little rough with the box? because i bought it from ikesoumd

yes i am from buffalo ny, im from the south buffalo ,west seneca area, good to see some 1 else from buffalo!!

and to answer the other question i have done that i checked many things over and over again like that i am only using the front and sub out put of the unit so im not sure what to do id hate to mail it back and wait 20 days for a new 1!!

i dont know about pioneer head units, but i know that on my alpine unit, i have to set the head unit to play off the amp, otherwise it tries to pick up the signal from the wiring harness.... so that may be ur problem right there.... as to pioneer being a bad head unit, i have a different view on that, pioneer has built themselves a strong reputation as being one of the premier head units over the years, and my friends are using them problem free... anyways, maybe u just got a bad deck, or maybe UPS was alittle too harsh... read the instruction manual and see if u can find something in the troubleshooting section, if not, then see if ikesound will let u return it, good luck

Typical problems just about anyone has with the low sound comming out of the higher end Pioneer head units are because the user thinks or beleives he/she already know everything there is to know about plugging it in and turnign it on. Yes they do indeed require some adjustments and tuning in order for them to play properly. This is doen for a coupel of reasons. One fo them being they like ot have their higher ened equipment installed and initially ran by a professional. Reason being? They can better acknowledge warranty etc.. on more expensive equipment. They also do this as an option type of deal etc......do not want to have the head unit sending poer out to cut wires where the factory shit once was and now amped wires and speakers and such are. Burn up the head unit and everything else. I highly suggest going thru the useres guide. Yes I am ware it is a gawd****ed encyclopedia, but it has all of the useful info insid eof it to help you get running as you should be.

First thing first, if you insist on doing it yourself (I wouldn't recomend it to a guy who isn't completely conpetant) is to go into the manual and check that you have the outputs enabled on the cd player. Then if that checks out make sure that you have all of the ouput levels like for front, rear and sub out turned up to their appropriate level. If all else fails I'd say check your connections once over and take it to a shop to look at it.

Actually the main reason is to have the option of either non fading or sub out via the same rca out. RCA are lkow voltage, what wil you "burn ":

I am not refering to RCA being burned there, but having wires to speakers with power output yes the Pioneer head units do have an output to speakers that is amped internally and if shorted while not being run to anything at all can cause the HU to burn up and or begin having major problems.
