I need some help replacing my CF EF 6.5"'s.. PLEASE!

OK...

I have a set of CDT CF EF 6.5" components with the SAT 456 crossovers

-one day my drivers side tweet stopped working... so I take the door panel off and everyhing is still connected... so... I zap the tweeter with a 9v and it pops... then I hook the tweet directly to the amp and it plays fine... I check all the conectors on the SAT 456 and they arn't corroded to bad so that shouldn't be the problem... I tried plugging and unplugging the tweet from the xover a few times but still nothing... I also tried to use the "imaging tweeter" section on the xover and still nothing.... now intermitently on the passenger side the tweet quits untill I turn it up to a ridiculous volume then it kicks on.. So should I:

Buy no xovers (I'm sue they arn't cheap)

or

Buy new components ( no more then $175)

-if I should buy new.. what should I get?

-System consists of 75x4 @ 4ohm memphis belle(1100x1 sub)

-I listen at moderately loud levels but not screaming...

-I like good midbass, and non fatiguing highs

-thought the CDT's sounded good but lacked some midbass

thats weird i have the same comps and my left side tweet just blew, but the weird thing is ive never really even taken them that loud, I would fool around some more or maybe just get new tweets

For the money, how about the 6.5 REV comps, the Momo MMC6500, (a little more than $175 though), or the '07 Type R?

The 456 xover is pretty much crap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Its no longer made for a good reason. Chances are the xover is fried on the tweeter side which is pretty common for them.

456 was one of the lower end crossover, switch to the 560 and you should be fine.

Search eBay for crossovers. You don't NEED CDT crossovers. Any brand will do as long as the cross over point is safe for your drivers and the impedance matches.
