I hear they are pretty kickin,I only have about 80watts a side via

I am planning in buying a ZED 2channel amp

and I am looking to equal my AURA's in SQ which are no longer made

Going into my Silverado,I have had eD 6500s hated em

Crystals,loved them but thought the tweet was week

HEX's with LPG tweets,ZERO midbass and hated em but the tweets

were amazing.......

Comps are a ***** as everyones tastes are different

but no way im spending 500 bucks a pop to find out

any thought in these........

Ive heard them with about 100-150 watts going to them and they sounded really good!! Like DejaWiz said, the clarity was awesome, and they also had some nice midbass!!

Hard to find tho online, I think woofersetc has em for like $270

OCS has them for $269 shipped. And I'll second what Tbayz said about the midbass above 100w rms, it pounds and pounds with clarity.

No doubt. Place I auditioned them at wanted $440 I think.

440 is too much for any Pioneer product-crooks...

The reason I wa looking at them was the power levels,I'll have around 75-85 watts......I realy do not want to use a large 150-200 watts amp( I have one )

they just take up too much space....

I think ill give em a whirl

Most places don't have them online OCS, and woofersetc has them listed...but call them I know a week or so ago they were backordered with no end in sight.

But anyways, I bought a pair, ran them with the passive crossovers for like 2 songs. They sounded ok, but on the dull side. Then I got rid of those passives and hooked them up active, and thats when they came alive. Best sounding components that I have heard in their price range.

Look for a Memphis 16-XO3 active crossover. Good little starter unit that can be had online for about $70-100 or at a local dealer for around $120-180.

The system is going to be wired a little differently.

1. HU preout - Active Xover in

2. Active Xover out - Amp in

3. Amp out - each speaker

Each speaker will need it's own amp channel (2 mids and 2 tweeters would require 4 amp channels).

online reviews can be tricky,one mans

"They sound Incredable" is another mans "these sound like chit"

Case and Point Diamond HEX.....Spendy comps and one of the worst

I ever owned and I like DA products alot but these things **** balls.......

I have owned about a half a dozen comps over the last 2 years or so

and only like 2 out of 6 brands and all had amazing reviews......

Comps in general are overpriced and there is absolutly ZERO

way to judge them in a store because unless they are mounted

with your amp in your car with your HU they will not reproduce SQ that will be real time driving sound.......

My brother just got his 720 PRS on Friday with UPS, He has not put them in yet. They mids look really beefy and solid. They quality of the set looks wonderful now we just need to hear them.
