Get a lawyer if you don't want any points on your license, if you can live with the points, pay it and slow down.

My insurance a month now is only 191!! soo sweet!! When I had my Volvo and had tickets every other month insurance was 500...

Or defensive driving, last time I will say it, no ticket, no increase in insurance, no points. If you do get another ticket within te time frame you will have both on your record.

I pay $180 a month and think that's high.

But about the ticket...one of my guys had a ticket for speeding. Officer wrote down the wrong color of the car. He transcribed a black car and my guy's car is blue. He got the ticket around 5:30pm...so there's a lot of cars out. He took it to court and won.

did he write down 39mph on the radar gun? my friend just got a ticket for 60 in a 45 but it was paced. we are gonna fight it. i think if it's a pacing issue where the cop is using his judgement, it's worth a try to fight it. i could be wrong, but in california if you fight your ticket and lose, u forfeit the right to traffic school. btw, i heard online traffic school is cake.

also, for something as lame as the year of your car, i dont think they'll let you slide.

in michigan a ticket for 5 over gives you 2 points on your license for 2 years. it's 8 points i believe before you loose your license here.

its 3 years and 12 points. i had my license suspended for a year with 14 points. and got pulled over on a suspended licence. wasnt very fun or cheap but, i have had plenty of tickets to fight and every single one was reduced. sometimes the judge treated me like a piece of s**t and told me how pathetic my driving record was but he still reduced it in some way. dont listen to anyone telling you not to fight it. its worth it unless you do have some kind of driving school to have it droped in a year.

in the experince my friends have had, if you bargin with the judge and it is your 1st normally you can get the points or the fine reduced/dropped. but have never seen a ticket like yours just get nullified. Call a lawyer and see what they say but it would cost u more for a lawyer than to just pay the ticket.

why is are so many ppl says call a lawyer. it's just a ticket. you broke the law you said you were doing 40. it doesn't matter what car you are driveing ,color, make, model..... you were the one behind the wheel. i mean dam if you were harassed then it would be a different story but he was just doing his job but what i don't thinks right is how can the community you live if charge you. now that's focked up i'd fight that!!!!!!!

Listen I was once a cadet my brother is a state trooper and I'm taking law classes. Challenge the ticket if the officer did indeed right down that you had a 2001 a JUDGE will RULE OUT THE CASE. My wife got a ticket about 6months ago and the stupid cop scribbled on the ticket and wrote down false information the judge ruled the case and chewed out the cop. Go to court don't worry about an attorney.

I got a ticket where the cop screwed up and wrote the wrong penial code and they threw it out, but one of my friends had the same thing happen to him and the just wrote him a new ticket with the correct codes on it. It wont hurt to try to fight it, I wouldnt go get a lawyer though, just show up on your court date

i got a ticket for failure to yield and cause a car accident i decided to fight it just to see what happened and the cop didnt show i got out of 200.00 fine and 2pts i think its worth it to try and fight it I HATE COPS all they do is eat donuts and harrass people
