ok hears the plan. i currently have a yellow top under the hood with a stock 100 amp alt. i plan i getting a 200 amp alt with a red top under the hood and a yellow top for the system( is this ok?) would this isolator be ok for this setup?.?.

has anyone used these before? if i do this i want the isolator to be fully automatic and switch the charging to the battery that needs to be charged. if you can recommend anything plz feel free.

does all this seem ok. or would i be better off just running the one yellow top with the 200 amp alt

if it helps at all i drive a 88 chevy astro van

system includes

MTX 1004 (high,mids)

MTX 942 (lows)

JVC KLH300 (reciever)

(also there is some aftermarket lighting on my van as well).

you dont need 2 batts unless you play your system alot with the engine off. i dont even think you would need a new alt if you did the "BIG3". thats not an overly big system. what kind of aftermarket lighting? if its undercarriage neons you cant drive with them on anyway.

in pa you can't but you can in many other places..... back to the post why is it your doing all of this. the system doesn't seem to all that big like scort said. with the batt. you have. 200 amp atl. (that you may not need either unless your dimming real bad) and the big 3 (which is the first thing i would try) you should have no problem but i would do the big 3 first instead of spending 2-300 bux on an alt. you don't need.....

no i do need a alt. ive done the big 3 and i still dim like a mutha fooka. it may not seem like to big of a system but these mtx amps **** juice like no other. the birth sheet says that each one of these amps may draw in more than a 150 amps. put both of them together and you got some pretty bad current draw.
