I need Help installing CD Plyr

Allright this is the deal, I have a 2000 Slilverado 4x4 and it had the stock tape player in it. Now I have a Pioneer DEH-p47dh GM fit cd player, the cd player is in there but its not in there like it should be. This cd player i thought didn't need a install kit, it came with brackets that don't seem to fit right to match up with the spots on the dash. The cd player is working fine but i want it to look right instead of the top portion of the cd player tillting in while the bottome tillting out. So my question would have to be does anyone know which brackets to use to install or do I have to buy a kit for a cd player thats the same size as factory? I would really appreciate any suggestions because i want a nice install.

you need a kit for that truck

scosche has a kit its called a GM1483B, then everything will work out fine for you

dash kit.. you probably don't need the wire harness since you already got all the wires set up heh

yeah i used the scosche wiring harness i didn't think i would need the dash kit since the opening is a 1.5 din and the new cd player is 1.5. But its not a big deal i'll just get me a kit and hope that will work. Thanks for the info.

Buy a kit that includes mounting brackets, like the Metra 4544 kit. You should be able to attach the correct brackets directly to your CD player instead of the kit body. Or, if you still have the stock radio from the truck, see if the mounting brackets can be removed from it and attached to your new radio.

Thanks everyone for your help, I went to Wal Mart bought the kit I only needed those two Pieces that went on the sides of the radio and bam the radio was installed properly in one minute I should have known Pioneer wasn't going to put everything in that box to make it fit without having to get that kit. For future RE: for all the silverado owners that buy the GM fit din and half you still will need the kit so get over it.
