9 times 3 = 27 plus 2 for tip 29 ..it does not complete the 30 from the begining

One of the guys was Flip -- he did not tip:fyi:

Person A = 10 bucks

Person B = 10 bucks

Person C = 10 bucks

Five dollars is refunded.

Person A now has 2 bucks

Person B now has 2 bucks

Person C now has 1 buck

Time to tip the bellboy.

Person A gives a buck

Person B gives a buck

Now everyone is left with a buck and Person C didn't have to tip.

See? No one got ripped off. Person C just didn't technically tip because Person A & B were over refunded.

Flip is still pissed though -- part of that was his money and he did not want to tip.
