I need help awnswring this question?

their is 3 guys that needed to rent a hotel room. the hotel was $30. the bell boy took them up to their room and found out that their was a discount, the room was only $25 so they were going to get $5 back. well the bell boy got $2 as a tip and each one got back a dollar so 2 +3=5. but when i do the math each one payed $9 ..9x3= 27 so 27+2=29 (2 for tip) what happened to the other dollar

P.S. One guy should have only paid 8 bucks, or everyone should have paid $8.334 cents.
You overpaid the hotel by a buck or whoever did the actual transaction pocketed the buck.
8.334 is only 25 . they got one dollar back each so they should have had 9 each plus the 2 for tip .. divide 2 by 3 and it is 66 cents so each one paid 8.994 and it does not equal 30

It is only supposed to equal $27. Their net cost was $27, because the hotel room cost $25 and they, not knowingly, tipped the bellman $2. ($25 + $2 = $27) The extra $3 was returned to them.
