I need advice/opinions

The guy had a gun. What are the chances that if he took a violent approach they'd work out in his favor?
i understand that part. but as far as him not wanting to carry any kind of weapon for self defense is what i dont understand. wether its held at gunpoint or someone attacking him. just because u carry a self defense weapon doesnt make him a bad person

Maybe he feels he shouldn't have to stoop down to the level of a gun-toting credent because social retards feel that carrying a gun is a viable, civilized option.
doesn't necessarily have to be a gun. even a taser would work. hell i carry a huge mag lite in my truck so if anyone tried to jump up the cab or when im inspecting my equipment atleast i have something...usually at truck stops across the country its just some crackhead trying to break in ure truck. just any self defense weapn. doesnt have to be a gun. thats all im saying

Exactly, you have no sympathy for those that break the law.
But haven't you broken the law yourself?
Who hasn't? I deserved to pay every last penny I paid of that $10 seat belt ticket. Just like if you were speeding down the interstate and got a ticket, do you want me to feel sorry for you? No, it was your decision to speed and to put yourself & other drivers at risk.

Go hug a tree, seriously. People have been carrying guns & weapons of some sort from the start of man kind. It's human nature to have some sort of self-defense.

sucks about your current situation. i'm sure you and your wife are now ok after the scuffle.

i has hopes for the best.

btw, i'm not reading 7 pages of crap... so whatever has been said has been said.

People were also having consensual *** with their family members and throwing spears and wild boar.
But we've evolved...and we've become sophisticated beings.
Lol. Very true, each and every one of us is still human and at some point you will defend yourself. I think we all have specific things that get under our skin and that's the sophisticated part about it. Regardless of the argument, I do respect your opinions and choice to not carry a weapon, I just don't want to see anyone innocent getting hurt.

I'm sorry for posting this here, but is the natural progression and no one is responding in that other thread. I guess it is my turn to troll?

I like how you blame the state for this. Are you really that retarded? How do people do heroin if they make it illegal?
Heroin is more easily produced and smuggled than guns are, so it would be quite easy to grow it within the US or, as is done now, smuggle it across the border.

Guns, on the other hand, can not easily be made or smuggled into the country from non-North American sources. Accordingly, most of the guns available to thieves are black-market from robberies or legally purchased. It stands to reason, then, that lowering the number of guns available within the US should decrease the number of guns available to criminals specifically.

As an example, here in Canada we are far more restrictive on what guns you can and can't have. Our crime rates, and specifically our murder rates and murder by firearm rates, are substantially lower here than both Mexico and the US (who have more relaxed laws). The problem we have is with guns smuggled into Canada from the US because of the lax laws at the border and within the US; the same problem does not exist going from the US to Mexico because the penalties for bringing even ammunition into the US is up to 5 years in jail.

Now there is no way that I can make a direct correlation between the stringency of gun laws and the crime rates, and neither can any of the pro-gun folks. Studies of the effect thus far are generally inconclusive or contradictory to other studies. I'm not against the possession of guns, but I do question the argument that wide-spread gun possession directly leads to lower violence, or somehow makes everyone more safe.

If a criminal wants a gun, they'll get one.
Sure, but the point is to make it extremely difficult for them to do so.

I don't want anything with a potential to kill though. I have seen more than one story of someone dying after some ******* cop tasered them.

I have seen shootings n the news that were in the middle of everyone. Neither of us knows if he truly would have. I am not that big of a gambler. Good to hear you got the minerals on you though. When I get some training, I'm sure I will have those minerals next time.
