I need a Ported box, what do i do now?

Sub is an RL-P (as most of you know from my giant thread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif ) amp is a Nine.1. I just want the absolute best ported box for SQL, with a little more emphasis on SPL than SQ. THe main problem is my car is a ***** Am, and i have virtually no room in the hatchback for a large box. I also have absolutely no clue how to build a box or tune it or anything!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif I would probably feel more comfortable having someone build a nice box for me. Please help!!! The 1 cube sealed prefab just isn't cutting it with this sub.

Here is something i stumbled across a few days ago http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/l-ported-box.htm. Fill in the spaces then post the dimensions and port length it gives. I believe the owner said 1.5 cubes at 34hz.

Theres many people on here who will design box plans for you, and many others who will build you a box....

Look at some of their previous work, and choose one who does a good job, and is fairly close to you for lower shipping costs.

Well, im just trying to get a feel on how much a rough ballpark figure cost for a medium ported (1.5 cu ft tuned to 34 hz) box after shipping would run me. The biggest obstacle is my trunk though. I drive a 1998 ***** am, so the box would have to be shallow, non bulky and long to fit in my trunk. BTW i am not looking to compete, i just want the absolute best SQL based box i can get (with a little more emphasis on SPL) that will fit in my trunk.

He told me 1.5 in an email, but i don't really care how big it is as long as it will fit in my rear hatch area. Bigger is better i guess. The small sealed prefab isn't cutting it at all, the 1200 watt sub sounds like a 200 watt sub right now, no good.

go to a hardware store, buy some 4 inch plastic pipe, cut a 4 inch hole in the box you already own,insert about 10 inches of pipe into hole and seal it up with caulk.try different lengths,9 inches 8 inches 12 inches,its not exact but you might find you get good results and you can then enjoy your sub until you find someone to build you a box? iy will take less than half an hour to do and you only need a drill and a jig saw?
