I need a new reciever

my pioneer vsx d1s just took a shit

we've had it since probably '88 or '89 and back then it was really high end shit

i'm looking for something similar but were deciding whether or not we're gonna buy something high end and keep it in the theater room or something of decent quality and i'll take it with me when i move out. any input CA.com?

If you're going surround, get a preamp/processor and separate power amp.

If all you need is 2-channel, either get an integrated amp or recapped vintage receiver.

budget? me personally im shooting for a 2 channel rotel amp/preamp

I got an older Yamaha receiver as my acting preamp and an amp hoked up to that.

It's an inexpensive route that works very well.
