How much deadner for a 2002 civic coupe(trunk and doors?)

a lot, I bought this stuff called quick roof.. i did one doot, my back deck and my drunk. they come in 25 foot rolls which are 6 inches in width.. i used about 4 rolls already.. its cheap though its $16.98 at a local home depot.. it works great.. your looking at $75 maybe even $100. Not that much compared to rammat and/or dynamat. Oh and this stuff doesnt smell or fall off like the other hardware store brands, its great and i recomend it to anyone. To answer your question.. 50 to 75 ft would be good. Pick up like 3 rolls of this stuff and take it from there, you should be good.

i just used 100sqft of damplifier and and 50sqft of damp pro todo just my 6doors and roof on the tahoe i still need another 100ft . so i wo0uld guess 100sqft of damp for a 2dr civic should be good for the doors and to get the trunk real good then mabee have a little left to get under the carpet if your lucky

How much you use depends on your goals, your budget and your future plans.

Want to reduce the harmonics in your sheet metal?

You can do that with as littl as 40 sq feet through out an entire Civic?

Want to reuce the majority of the vibrations from your audio system?

Maybe 80-100 sq feet of a quality vibration damper.

Got a ton of SPL and trying to reduce panel flex?

Some guys use 2 layers, or even 1 layer plus a heavy coating of a noise coating on top. Some go with fiberglass resin on top of a damper to add stiffness too..

I have three rules in car audio one of which is you CANNOT have enough deadener. I recommend Second Skin over any other product.........PERIOD!

I have one rule in car audio "deadening" and that is to use the right tool for the job. I can treat a trunk for rattles with a $.79 pack of Bubble Yum gum.

You see, using the "best" brand name products...or even the "cheap" look-alike "deadeners" from the home improvement store doesn't make all your problems go away. It's taking an objective approach and understanding what stuff goes where. Not a lot of people with tell you this stuff because they're perpetually caught in the read-and-repeat deadening disease that has infected every car audio forum on the web.

Don't put roofing materials in your car.

Don't use "deadener" for rattles.

Do use the search function and read a little. Seriously, 1 hour can go a long way.

Do read the treads where countless people admit that all their money and hard work was wasted because they didn't do their homework before hand.

At the end of the day, Ant from SS or anybody with a bottom line is happy to tell you how much you need in your car. You need to question the HELL out of those guys, IMHO. I've done it like 457 times. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Oh I totally understand what you are getting at. I thank all of those who have responded so far as well as SS for stepping in and giving some advice. Most likely I will order about 40 sq foot of the damplifier to start with and go from there.
