I need a new battery

I am shopping for a new battery and so far I think I am getting a optima yellow top. Are their any other batteries that I should consider before purchasing this battery. I will probably buy a new battery tomarrow.

I am also looking into upgrading my alternator pretty soon depending on how well my current alternator handles my amp (kicker SX1250.1 - ~1400 RMS) if that will affect my battery choice.

kinetik batteries are good as well. optima is a solid choice. Exide Orbitals are another good option.

Id upgrade the big 3 for sure. If you get dimming issues (im pretty sure youll get some dimming with that amp) a new alternator would be the best solution.

id go with the optima over the kinetik simply cause the optima offers the gm side posts as well as the top posts..

I was definately planning to do big three first. I cannot even run cd player for more than ten minutes without the voltage dropping to low without the engine running and I don't have anything installed yet that draws a lot of current so I am buying a battery tomarrow. Everywhere I have read says that the excide battery is made by the same company, but I can get the optima locally.

Ive had a red top under my hood for ~2.5 years now...killed it a few times leaving the lights on, and it would always start right up off a jump and recharge by time i got home from work..

I would like a battery with side teminals for all of the OEM connections and the top posts for my stereo and big three, which I don't believe the PC1700 has. Plus it looks too big to fit in my car since the OEM battery is crammed in with almost no room.

But that battery looks like a beast.
