I need a change.

Okay I'm begging for help. I applied @ sonic, the fast food drive in, when I was 18 because my P.O. said if I didn't have a job in two weeks I was going to jail or going to do 40 hours of community service a week. So, knowing that places like this always need help, I applied. I got the job, started @ 6.50 an hour.

That was nearly two years ago. I'm now 20 years old. I'm no longer on probation and I have a clean record. I have gotten two raises, one mandatory which increased my pay rate to 6.65 an hour, and one that bumped me to 7 an hour. I am one of three or four people left that still work there from when I started. I've seen the change of 3 different GM's, countless assistant managers, hundreds of employees, etc.

Since i'm back in school, I'm only working weekends and that's still too much to put up with. I would complain about every aspect of the job, but it's fast food so you can imagine for yourself. Also, I'm sure these threads have a character limit.

Anyways, I'm asking for help. I need some advice/assistance on what a 20 year old college student can do for part-time work. What do some of you younger guys do for income during the school year?

i say if u were in school and just took that job for like a part time job thats cool .See the thing is u been there and u know what u gota do and im sure its like so easy and shit for you. if u dont mind change then move on then

chech out the local temp services for a job in your field or related

i install at a local shop, but im about to change to makeing cabinets.

try gulfstream or boeing. sure they could looking for production guys.

Well, i don't go to school. but i do Fire protection.. Pipe fitting work... it's hot and sweaty but pays the bills pretty well

i need a change even more. I am 19 and only worked 4 weeks in my whole life. I guess i am a loser and it hits me more and more every day. I hated all the jobs i worked at and quit real fast. There are no good jobs, they all ****. Some just **** less than others.

get an education that way you can start a career and not just a "job"

well if u need the money u will have to deal with it. like if u got a family to think about bills rent ext u just go and do what u gota do. I like to think no matter what u are doing now it dont mean u gota be doing it in 2 or 3 years

Look at retail. The holiday season probably already began for most companies, with inventory and such. If you do well, most will keep you on.

well i'm in my 3rd semester @ a community college, getting my associates degree for free, so i'm still undecided as for a major. i tried selling drugs, that's why i was on probation. i got popped w/ a QP of weed in about 5 separate bags, scales, and a random collection of pills for every occasion. i'm lucky i'm not in prison.

i think my plan is to put up some sort of a resume online, check out temp services, and of course, wal mart. lol.

i don't really need anything with better pay right now, but it would be nice. i just want a tolerable job.
