A friend of mine was thinking about buying this from me, but it's yours if you want it. $100 plus shipping. It says 4k, but has been tested to do 1,000 watts at 1 ohm

That PPI 1000.1d is a pretty solid little amp for the money..I have one in a work truck pushing an xfl 12@32 htz in 2.0 cu ft slamming just fine,and a 600.2 on the front stage doing fine.Not a bad little amp

Thanks, just ordered it. have you ever had it overheat? I live in phoenix and the trunks of cars her can easily push 160 degrees in the summer.

I placed 4 washers under each mounting tab to get some air underneath(I also have a Stinger scroll fan in place where it has taken the place of my mmats amp at the moment)..I recently put it in, so we will see when it gets hotter, but The scroll fan should keep it quite cool and being raised as I do all my amps.Fans are cheap.

You will in no way get any where near 1k from that PPI amp. You just paid for a 500rms amp hope that works out for you...
