Understandable. Budget brand, however, so you can't always expect a quality piece of equipment - otherwise, no one would bother buying Sundown amps, they'd just get the hifonics.

I'll say since he doesn't need full power, however, he should be just fine.

I agree. Since the RE SE 12s handle 600 watts RMS each, a BXi 1608 should be more than sufficient @ 1 ohm.

Should be perfectly fine with the 1608 Hifonics amp.

i needed 1200w @ 1ohm for my Q... the bxi 1208 didnt do it, i sent that shit back after the speakerout got ****ed up and then i ordered a diamond d3 1000... way worth the extra 90$

Like the one other guy mentioned, I believe the 2007 line up didn't do rated power, but it wasn't like a ton overrated.

The newer line is rated. Have a friend that bench tested a 1208 and was right there IIRC. I would have to call him to be positive, but I am pretty sure it was right there.

thats what i was thinking as well. but that poster above me always seem to say his did not do power what ever that means. his is just pissed off that he got a bad amp and onlinecarstereo.com did the right thing buy giving him a store credit for a new one. so now he has to slam hifonics.

Well Hifonics does seem hit or miss, I will give him that.

But, not sure how he can claim about power it does if he couldn't get it to power on the right way. Sounds to me he just got a bad amp and I understand why he would be mad, but hopefully his next amp works and he don't have to run the company under a bus.

it won't hurt going with a 2008, just set the gains a little lower if you have to.
