I have a 2004 monte ss is the stock size in front 6.5 or 6.75? And do you know what the max mounting depth is?

It has a plastic speaker holder in the door, and I'm not sure of it's diameter.

Mounting depth is supposed to be

2-3/4" but I got my alpine type-R 6.5" to fit by using the included 1/4" adapter ring under the speakers. They were a 3" mounting depth.

I'm sorry, to be more precise;

They say the max mounting depth is 2-13/16", and my speakers were supposed to be 2-3/4". And the Alpine speakers I installed are listed as a 6-3/4" speaker. At least on Crutchfield.com they are.
