The SS are great speakers, but it depends on how you feel about the Rainbows. If you're happy with them, why mess with a good thing?
If there's something that bothers you about them, then the answer depends on what it is that you hope to improve on. Do you find the Rainbows deficient in some way?
in a sealed deadened dooor the midbass gets low but still seems lacking, and they just dont seem musical. Basicly i like to sound from my friends Xennon comps better then these. They do though get real real loud.
i went from my slc's to boston pro 60s and loved it, maybe it was just me, but im getting the pro's again for my Xplorer, got very loud and clear, great midbass, i was running them off my orion 8002 getting them 250ish rms per side, from 150-250 is a good number for them
yeah cc is getting Ba soon from what i hear so i will leave them open //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I think you would love the Kicker SS. I actually have set that I was using in my truck but I traded them out for the Dynaudio that I have now. I loved the sound of them but hated having my Dyn's sitting in my closet not being used.
i actually heard good things about the kickers, havnt heard personally but i hear strong midbass, and actually the mids and tweets very nice and musical.

I like my SS comps, and my RS comps. To me the overall sound quality was better with the SS comps, but the RS seemed more efficient and able to throw a bit more midbass out there.
Trey803 has some slc's i believe. He did a pretty nice job installing cept he didnt deaden the doors. They sound fantastic, but they dont get loud at all.
