I have a couple of options...what would YOU do?

The positive side to full active is tuning whereas the negative side to full active is tuning! Too bad the main culprit in obtaining audiophile sound in car audio is the car itself:crap:

You have got to be kidding. Just judging by his questions do you seriously expect him to build a diy active system this century?
Depends. Thing is, looking back, the only purchases we regret are the ones we have to replace or aren't used. Going with car passive set-ups are a waste if you consider how much money goes into the mountinghardware you may or may not need or the passive crossovers which will never be correct for many. If he goes much further (Imean he's on a board, he's searched, he didn't just go to best buy) he'll be wanting an active sset-up anyway.

I know what active means and I know that Datyon and Peerless are nice for the car and not that expensive, BUT I don't know how I'd do that and I really have no desire to get crazy into tuning. I just want good sound.
Therein lies the real issue and why I like active. The sound is that of clean power. High headroom gooshiness. There is no substitute for raw power and most passives hack away at it.

Correct. Mulitdementional solutions are the only ones that will work which is why I am happy to have beaten car audio for good:)

The last question on OP's statement was kinda open so I figured I'd throw it out there. I understand it would take an extra weekend of research (one last ditch effort) to research how to do it bu, alas, passives can be fun too.

Passive is easier, and I don't really have the time or patience to go through all of the tuning and placement....I'd probably have to do some custom fabrication too, I don't want to pay a ton of money for the install either. I just want good quality speakers in factory locations that give good full sound that can get loud if I want.

those hertz will work great for you, no need to go active

if your not looking for a ton of bass, that JL box will work fine, seems like a nice box design for the amount of space used

i like the looks of those alpine amps, weve installed a few, super small which will be important for you, havnt really played with any of the new JL amps so cant comment
