I got the wrong impedance

Hi! I just got a jl dual 4 subwoofer and I am verifying the impedance to make sure that everything is good and I don't know if I am doing something wrong with my dmm but it keeps fluctuating and doesn't even get close to 4 ohms?

I have my dmm set to "200 ohm" , sub is on flat surface and im getting pissed right now! PLEASE HELP

You mean setting on the dmm?

Yes, if it has a 10 or 20 ohm setting, that would be better than the 200 ohms you have it set for. The number would be more accurate

Its not gonna be right at 4, it'll be around 3.7 to 4 and fluctuation problem can be from the dmm plugs not plugged in completely firm and stable.

it got stable now, it seems like but at 5.2

try touching the prongs on your dmm together. they May have a resistance that's throwing them off. my old dmm had .8 resistance from the prongs alone

might be a little worn down, did you get it used?

Regardless, it should still play but its past ownership wasnt kind to it.

SSSSSSSÒOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTT, my prongs have about 1.1 resistance when I touch them togethe.

no problem man I had that same problem a few months ago. try cleaning the dmm off so it's bare shining metal if there's any rust or corrosion. or maybe just get a New dmm

dang your prongs got that dirty/corroded? Mines always read 0 when touched together.
