Yea, thats Mecha Godzilla
As some of you saw JimJ made me buy these really big speakers and I had to do a lot of re-arranging to get them to fit in my "listening" space.
Here is the current placement/setup.
....And here is the gear on it's flimsy shelving unit..... I plan to make my own that will be prettier and more robust.
Equipment from top to bottom:
1) Marantz TT4000 that I stole from my dad, I'd get my own but I'd have to spend a bit to get better performance.
2) Arcam Alpha 8 CD player... it's acting as a transport right now.
3) Forte F-50 D/A converter, it actually sounds different than the Arcam //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
4) Parasound Halo P3 pre-amp. I might use it to control a bi-amp setup.
5) SimAudio Moon i5080 integrated amplifier. Puts out 80w x 2. Haven't used it much yet so I can't tell you much about how it compares as an amp or a preamp.
6) Forte Model 6A amplifier. 200w x 2 , about the first 40-55w are class A which is pretty high for an A/B design. It is also a no-feedback design.
7) Martin Logan Sequel II speakers. JimJ's fault //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif
It sounds pretty damn good to my ears. A stark contras to the car where I live and die by EQ. My next project will be to take the speakers apart and see if any capacitors need replacing etc.... I also like to clean out the guts on these things to get them as close to "new" as I can //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
