I can not figure this out (2005 chevy impala door speaker install)

Bypass the whole system. Cars today with factory setups are kind of a either keep them or scrap the whole system and run your own wires. I remember having a gm monsoon system and I basically in the end to be happy had to get rid of the entire system and run my own amp.

 
It's been years but I believe the mid is full range

If you are worried about it get components

You can run the mid and tweet separately and won't have too much trouble mounting them

I'm sure someone on here can point you to some decent similarly priced components

 
IF those tweeters don't have a tiny capacitor built right onto them somewhere (make sure you look under whatever plastic molding it is housed in) then I would guess that the crossing over is done at the amp and you would want to use components instead of coaxial to keep a full range signal up front.

 
Well thanks for everyone's replies. I'll try running the new speakers with the factory amp and without to see which one sounds better
