Hypnotized @ 147db...but need your help!

Hey fellars!

Definitely not trying to brag here...just wanted to get your help on 2 things.

1) The HU skips horribly at it starts to get near a 146 db reading on the Epic-150 (yes I realize th Epic is no TL)....I have tried bracing the HU (by tightening it better and putting in a wedge to brace it).

This actually seemed to make things worse. I used to be able to go all the way up to 149 db before bracing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Is there anything else I can do?

This is also where the 2nd question comes in...

2) I used to have a temp box 3cu.ft @ 33hz (see this thread http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=201516).

This hella small box used to hit very hard -- got up to 149db on the Epic-150.

My new box is *6.5 cubes at 33hz* and it barely hits harder *if at all harder* then the 3 cu. ft. box....

So to summarize, I replaced the 3 cu. ft box with a 6.5 cu. ft box and it seems like each box is almost the same in loudness...

I guess this could be lucky for me as I'll just go back to the much smaller box and reclaim my trunk space!!!

what is u running?

3 cube should peak higher than 6cube box, i wonder if the epic 150 uses a different mic than the 160?

i could get over 150 easy in my blazer, but with this explorer, roof flex is killing me, so hypnotize sucks, but lows are sick in this box

Really? That much? I've heard 150db systems before...this doesn't sound like it's 15 db off...actually my ears are still hurting...

sometimes your hu will skip due to "pulsing" not enough constant voltage will cause this "pulsing", i had this problem too after upgrading amps, installed a high output alternator and better battery, kinetik 2400 the "pulsing" disappeared. Right now 1 RE MT 18 with a Concept 2400d...but I'm *NOT* getting all of that power...as I have stock big 3 (8 ga wire) and I am running on a 4 year old stock batt...(03 Rav4)...

Cool man...I'm going to try that...I've got a Costco 900 CA batt just sitting here but been to busy to put it in...I will definitely try adding the 2nd batt!!@!!!

I will also remove the HU bracing as well...I didn't see any improvement with that...

Yeah man...that's what my ears are telling me...uhh...I don't know how peepz take 150 daily....ouch!!!!
