Hmm EPIC vs. TL...interesting...

Isn't the TL measurement done on the dash...I've heard that adds a few dbs? Does it?

In the Pic the Epic is facing the cabin...does that make any difference?

Not wanting to start a TL vs. EPIC debate just regurgitating things I've heard.

Any yes I would get on a TL if there any in WA State!! I do consider the TL the true measuring stick.

Any thoughts about the box size thing? I would have thought the difference between 3 and 6 cubes would be rather huge.

Anyone tried such a swap out? Any of you SPL guys try this?

what is u running?
3 cube should peak higher than 6cube box, i wonder if the epic 150 uses a different mic than the 160?

i could get over 150 easy in my blazer, but with this explorer, roof flex is killing me, so hypnotize sucks, but lows are sick in this box

Not sure if your explorer is similar to the one i had, but if we sat someone on the roof to help the flexing or pushed on the back glass, we would always LOSE dBs.

Interesting you ask...I did run a sweep from 35 to 55 hz just to see...IIRC...it peaked at 46 hz.

Was -3 db from peak down to 40 and up at 55 hz...the sweet spot for most rap...

It was darn loud for such a tiny thing...is that a steep roll-off? The consequences of a tiny box?

from the glass to the head unit your not gonna gain much.

SPL boxes are smaller

with the bigger box your lower end should get louder. but thas jus in theory

what year was yours?

because the flex is bad, to where i dont even listen to hypnotize anymore because one of the notes in it is just nasty sounding, i think half the bass gets canceled out and all you hear is the roof

Hmmm, regarding the HU skipping...I'm suprised no one posted a simple test....

Just use another input source....i.e. use the radio...if it skips then it must be a HU defect or voltage...

I've still got some more testing to do on the box though...

my head unit actually resets at full tilt with some good bass lines, i reinstalled head unit and made sure it was very secure, with no success. Im in a delema as well:crying:

the screen on my indash starts moving bad on LOW notes, but hasnt done anything retarded yet, my clarion used to skip on bass
