HU problem

my kenwood kdc-mpv619 HU has been workin fine until suddenly today the sound went out. the illumination's still there and the power still goes on but there is no sound. when i turn on the car there is a little noise from one of the rear speakers but that is all. is there a wire connection problem and if so, which wires could it probably be? please help... thanks

Could be the wires between your speakers and HU. Do you use a external amp? If not I think the internal amp in the HU went out.

hmmm ya i think my internal amp went out... i still have the warranty but the thing is that it's second hand... where should i go to get it fixed and how much will that cost?

if you know the person you got it from then might see if they still have the receipt.

haha well heres the thing.. i got it off ebay and when ups delivered my package they delivered it to the wrong house down the street and i went and picked it up from that house. But I never told the guy or UPS that I had found my package so he sent in a tracer and UPS found out that they had misdelivered the package and is giving him a claim. So in about a week, ill have 2 decks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif , but i can't ask for a receipt or anything to get the first one fixed.

but i was gonna sell the second deck, so i still need the first one fixed. what would be the best place to take it in and how much can i expect that to cost?

Sweet! Might try a local electronics repair shop and see what they quote ya. Sometimes it can be just 1 little thing preventing it from working. I had a buddy who would buy or be given bad amps and he would test every thing on the circuit board with a ohm meter and then would replace what ever wouldnt ohm out. Sometimes he could even find the diods he would need at the local radio shack.
