Hu not working

You have not cut the factory plugs away yet have you? If you have reconnect the plugs, one should be grey, the other is black. They should look very similar in size and shape. If this is true, head down to Walmart and buy a Scosche FD02 harness. It will plug directly into the factroy harness. The wires on the FD02 are then color coded to the wires on your new cd player, you can then hook them wire to wire. Ignore the extra wires on the FD02 harness that are blue, orange or orange / white, blue / white. For now ignore the blue, blue / white and orange wires on the new cd player harness as well.

i alreaty bought a harness online. Its a Metra 70-1770 will that work. And yes i still have the factory harnesses

yea its made for an 86 and up ford which is what i have.
86 and up Ford what, though?
Just because the year range fit your particular model doesn't necessarily mean it is meant for your specific vehicle, though. Different harnesses are meant for different models of cars within the same model years. Ford made more than one vehicle in 1986 IIRC.

I reckon it is possible that the same harness fits all models but it seems awful unlikely to me.

yeah ford's harrness are pretty much the same.

a thin black one and a thin grey one.

well when you get the harness, just match up the colors on the HU, and plug her in.

Okay - that sounds like what I had in my '87 Crown Vic so I reckon I stand corrected and they are all the same within those years!

*sits down and shuts up*
