HT Sub(s) Ideas

Nothing Is Promised
I want to sell my Infinity Entra Sub and get either a single 15 or (2) 10's for my HT. Will get around 1000W (most likely at 4ohm)

Any ideas would be appreciated along with pics if you have done HT subs.

Some subs I have looked at: XXX, JBL Power Series and W15GTi, Infinity VQ's, Focal, ID's.

i have a single 10" sealed with 1000 watts on it and it is plenty loud and clean for HT. i think its the best bass setup i have personally owned for my HT. i have gone through lots of them too.

By the sounds of it, you're looking for SQL? What kind of music do you like?
I am mainly rap and techno but thats where my SE comes in handy in my car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

This is for my 5.1 setup upstairs. I want it louder than the Infinity I have. The Entra is nice and clean but not deep or loud enough. Movies: war, horror. Games: Dolby Digital: War, RPG, action.

i have the velodyne SPL1000-R, and it just rips for a single 10".

Um...yeah about that...lol. I almost got an XXX15 from PDizzle but my A/C decided to die I couldn't. I don't know how I'd get 7.5cf up my stairs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

How about we go more towards lik 4-5cf?

If you don't already have a sub I would recommend buying a sub that was intended for home use and not car. They are usually optimized for home conditions, lower gain frequency etc. And before a bunch of people get their panties in a wad, I'm not saying you can't use a car sub I just wouldn't recommend it if you have a choice. I'm using one now and it was a b1tch to get modeled.

I would recommend a 15" Dayton Titanic from Parts Express. There are several DIY projects using this driver floating around so it wouldn't be hard to come up with a design to suit your needs. Also if you use this driver you could get away with using a smaller amp probably 500 or less.
