how would this sound?

well im getting a new vehicle soon, its gonna be a truck so i can haul around my toys and whatnot, and i cant sacrafice the back seat, so how this system would sound

HU: DEH-P510UB - Pioneer Premier CD/MP3 Receiver W/ USB Input and iPod Control

components: CXS54 - Image Dynamics 5.25" 2 Way Component System x2- one set in doors and one set in kick panels.

4 channel amp for comps: DSC4125 - MB Quart 4 Ch 1000 Watt Amplifier

subs: IDQ10V3.D4 - Image Dynamics 10" IDQ Version 3 Subwoofer 2 of them in custom sealed box under back seat.

sub amp: DSC1000.1 - MB Quart 1 Ch 1000 Watt Amplifier i will wire the subs down to 1ohm to get the 1000watts- 500 per sub.

this will be my second install ever, first was horrible and this will be my first attempt at a semi SQ setup. Ohh and i mainly listen to rock/metal/deathmetal/metalcore anything like that, but a tiny bit of rap when im feeling like some bass.

I'd stick with a single set of 6.5" comps in the kicks.

no door speakers? just a single set of 6.5's in the kicks? hmm thats a thought, but ive always wanted to do a 4 speaker setup like this, would it just be too much? or not sound good?

same mids different spots, different alignments, and facing different directions. no thanks.

yeah that makes sense, but if i were to just do a single set of components, id rather just do door speakers and not kicks, in all honesty i hate fiberglassing and would rather not do it if i dont have it.

Q-logic kicks are a fair solution. You can grab them on eBay for 200ish. I have mid-tweet in my kicks and midbass in the door locations (along with some deadening) and I'm quite happy.

If you do mess with the factory locations buying a bit of sound deadening and doing some dampening/tightening up will be well worth the time and money.

Otherwise you should be in good shape with your equipment choices.

yeah, i actaully plan on ripping out the interrior and deadening the whole vehicle, and are those the same kicks they sell on crutchfield? if so i might just buy from them, i dont care for ebay all that much, although i have gotten a few good deals on there. one more thing, the reason i wanted 2 sets of components in the front is because i have a 600w substage right now and it has no problem drowning out my cvl-5k components, so i was worried that a 1000w substage would drown it out even worse.

plus with a single set of comps you wont have the imaging issues you would with 2 pairs

would XS-65 - Image Dynamics 6.5" 2 Way Component System in the kicks work good? and is that 250 watts rms or peak? doesnt say, im guessing for the price thats rms but im not sure, that would also mean i dont need a 4 channel amp, so what are some good amps that will do 250x2 @4ohm

sorry just read, 250 peak (i know means nothing) and 125 rms, doesnt seem like alot for the price, considering for 100 bucks less i can get http://www.woofersetc.com/p3945/CXS64--Image-Dynamics-65"-2-Way-Component-System.htm which will take 150 watts rms

I run those and yes they will take that much. I have 250 going to each of my mids and another 100 per tweeter. I would still get the 4 channel, just bridge it. That will be the cheapest way to get the power your looking for

You can also order direct from q-logic...not sure if crutchfield sells them? I ordered from q-logic through ebay and used the bing.com cashback for a bit of a discount. If you get them, throw some deadening on that.

I agree with the phasing/imaging issues. Go for bigger/better components in the front, or as I said do 3 ways with midbass in the doors and mid-tweet in the kicks. The 3db gain from the extra set of comps is probably not worth the tradeoff of the potential accoustic problems, particularly when you can get a single better/bigger set of comps and throw a bit more power at them to get to the same place....just my .02$

sweet thanks, so should i give them more then 250 or will 250 be fine? cause that amp will only do 250x2 bridged.

oops nvm that amp will do 500x2 bridged@ 4ohms, will that be too much power?
