Power to my stock speakers.

My Kenwood DNX-9140 is powering my stock speakers in my 08 Altima. I also have 800 Watts bass. Its sounds ok.

Is there any advantage powering the stock speakers with an amp. I will not be able to purchase my new Comps for 6 months and all the wiring is run so I could do it pretty easy. Should I or just wait.

Thanks Biker

I don't think you really would see much benefit. I would never really try it because of the sheer waste it seems. Compared to speakers already receiving headunit power, how much more realistically can you throw at them with them being so cheap? I would imagine not much more that you would receive any real audible sound different? Then again, I've never tried? Not sure how many have. Do you have a speaker amp purchased as it is? If you don't, look in the classifieds before buying new. Great used stuff for much cheaper then new

Yes I have a real nice Arc Audio amp installed and ready to go. All the wiring is in place. All I need to do is pull the HU and connect the wires. I think ill wait as it sounds fine now. The only complaint I have is the stock speakers have a lot of bass and I cant change that from the HU where as I could from the Amp.

Thanks Bob
