how well does a wall behind backseat in a suv work?

omg. blazers get so loud. my wifes 03 blazer xtreme had two 12" JL W3's (i think the 04 model) in a prefab ported box. probly getting 900-1200 watts rms all together. thatshit SLAMMED so hard. i dunno what it is about blazers, but they get ****ing loud so easy
yup before i ship out i have a new 18" sub plus 4500ish watts to throw at it...

the box is built already waiting for it...

8 cubes net 11 total... 1/4" all thread braces... resined insides... and bed liner is being put on the outside to make it more appealing to the eyes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

should be decent...

What did it do on the tl???

What did it do on the tl???
never metered it. this was back in early 2004. i wasnt much into car audio at the time. she was in a bad motorcycle accident and got 300K after sueing the bar. the guy left drunk, hit her head on while she was on her bike. she died twice. she went and bought an 03 eclipse and 03 xtreme. the eclipse had two 10" L5 (black cone) which was also loud as ****, small as car, and a hatch back. but if i had to guess. both of them were in the low to mid 140's

my first system in my blazer a pair of 10" mtx's were tuned to 40hz and off of ~800w they did a 137 on the tl with burps though
odd. i did 134.9 with a 10" L7 in a prefab fiberglass kicker ported, on a kx600.1 using only 350w (i had a very weak battery) also, in the trunk of a 97 monte carlo.

meh.. that was my first ever system.. so it was very far from perfect... it is safe to say i have come along quite a way from that...
that was my most recent system. i sold my amp before i had a chance to get a new battery and replace my faulty fuse holder. would have loved to hear it with its full 650w

my box was far from perfect.. lets just leave it at that... in hindsight... a better box would have done 40's easy...
yep which is why when i get my icon and sae-1000D im having it built into the trunk walled off, properly tuned. i want it to be a loud daily driver, and be able to compete. and i like sound quality, and from what i h ear the icons sound great. i dont know if i should aero port or slot port tho

well, im not going to enter a competition hoping to win. although i may get lucky. ive seen single sub setups (walled off) or aero ported, pulling high numbers on minimal watts. its all about pressure build up. i just want to compete to say that i finally did. im sure icould have competed with my L7 if everything worked properly in street b (or a, not sure) and came in atleast top 3

sub up port back still usually the best in a SUV?

If so how far away should the port be away from the back wall?

Also how do you keep the back hatch from rattling? Like the backglass and stuff. I know I could dynamat the bottom part but what about the backglass?

not sure if i saw this info in here yet but, coming from some VERY respected people:

if you dont build up to the B pillar (ie. behind the front driver/passenger seat) then dont wall an explorer off. you can be louder with a standard ported box.

i have en explorer, i wanted a wall, but statements like this from people such as bigbassloyd and others made me change my mind very quickly.
