how well does a wall behind backseat in a suv work?

I have a wall in my accord now but I'm wanting to get a SUV like an explorer or something so I can wall it off behind the backseat so I can have a wall and still have a backseat. But i'm just wondering how well these work out? Haven't really seen anyone doing this.

So what kind of difference is there with wall behind front seat vs wall behind backseat?

they work like any other wall would. just smaller. harder to find places for amps and batteries, and you may lose optimal tuning if the box isnt big enough. id do something like meade, go non wall and keep your backseats.

I figure I would loose a couple of dbs going non wall though.

maybe you will, maybe you wont. depends on how well you build and tune your box. there are alot of non walled vehicles who pwn the shit out of walled vehicles. just //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

very true. a guy with 4 12'' dd9500's and 8k of power had a wall and i was 1 db louder than him with 2 15'' type R's non walled. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif:crazy:

very nice. im hoping to duplicate snoopdans Mach5 SPL 12 score (i belive it was him who made the video of the SPL 12 in the cavilier) same type of box (which i call a miniwall, because its in a trunk.. being walled off). but im going to do either one or two 12" SSA Icons and two SAE-1000D's. subs and aero ports firing into the cabin. hoping to break 145

The organization I compete in is just a thing here in Arkansas and having a wall or no wall wont affect my class.
then why does it matter? i suggest going non walled. walled off vehicles are used 95% of the time for competition only and not daily driving. what if you want to ride with more than one person?just build a proper box, properly tuned, good electrical, bla bla.. u know the drill. youll be happy i promise

I'm talking about walling it behind the BACK seat. not front seat. I would have a wall and still have the backseat.

I'm running a wall right now as you can see in my picture.

oh yea thats right. my bad, i forgot lol. well.. why dont u go ahead and just build it? see how it sounds? and while your building it, build a regular ported box (built to specs and tuning of course) and test them both out. see wht u like best. thats what id do

I want to wall off my blazer when i get out of active duty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif .....
omg. blazers get so loud. my wifes 03 blazer xtreme had two 12" JL W3's (i think the 04 model) in a prefab ported box. probly getting 900-1200 watts rms all together. thatshit SLAMMED so hard. i dunno what it is about blazers, but they get ****ing loud so easy

I hope you don't by a car based on what kind of system you want. I did that, it was a silly decision. It's worked out and everything, but I think it was kind of ridiculous when I look back on it.

That being said, I am thinking about walling off my Rodeo now that I have 4 12s. Sorry, to thread jack, but the people in this thread might know: Is it worth it to wall it off? I'm thinking no, it's a waste of cargo space and I won't be able to use my rearview at all. My other option is subs up, port back. Would this be noticeably less loud? Would it sound better than a wall, though?
