How to wire in dual alternators

I've been searching the web for a while now and haven't come up with anything. I have an 03 Blazer and am going to try and run dual alts. My current alt has 3 hookups. The main battery power wire and 2 more in a plug. Do I splice into the plug wires and run them over to the new alt? Also, to double check, do I want series or parallel for the main battery wire? I don't want to nuke my shit with 24v.

I think you keep the one alt with the plug as it is. That will run either the charge light or some other gauge on your dash etc. Take the output lead from the second alt and connect it to the other in parallel.
