How to wire crossflow cooling fan

How can i wire a crossflow cooling fan so that when the remote turns on the amps the fan turns on as well?

use the remote turn on lead to activate a relay. The relay can turn on both the amp and the cooling fans.

They have a power wire and ground. Hook the power wire to the output of the relay.

so i have to buy a relay?

I had some LE.D inside my box that were wired to the trunk lighting but it was extended out of speaker wire so im assuming when they tapped in to it, it was only a positive and negative line.

If i get a relay and wire ground and power to the relay where do i plug the relay to?

There are wiring diagrams for relays all over the net, just Google it. Once you have power and ground for the relay itself, wire the trigger to the remote on from the HU. Use the output from the relay for both the remote on for the amps and direct power for the fans.

It shouldn't take more then a few milliamp's but you could get a 1A relay just to be safe (I couldn't find a wattage or amperage rating on the motors anywhere sorry I cant be more precise)

Never seen a 1A relay. Just get a standard 30A automotive relay. They're like $5 at any autoparts store.

i got it, is it better to wire all amps and electronics through the relay instead of wiring it directly from the headunit?

Yep, if you've go the relay, use it for all your remote on purposes. They last about forever, BTW. I'm still using one that I had in my first large system. It's close to 13 years old and going strong.

oops i forgot, I use them in college on breadboard applications all the time (well 2A but close enough)
