how to wire 2 subs to mono amp?

if your subs are single voice coil 2 ohm you can wire them to 1 ohm or 4 ohm. since your amp is not 1 ohm stable you will have to wire them to 4 ohms, they will end up seeing around 250 a piece if your amp puts out rated power. now if your subs are dual voicecoil 2ohm, then you can wire them to a 2 ohm load and get more power from your amp. these subs will work but depending on your voice coil configuration you might now get the power you want out of them

what u can do....Go to the wiring diagram, choose two woofers, then choose two single 4 ohms subs. The top diagram would be 1 ohm and the bottom diagram would be four ohms. U can hook it up like the bottom diagram. I dont know the specs on the subs tho but ur amp can do 4ohms.

cool so i can use this subs after all but it will use less power... dont need that much power anyways.. if i did use that much id think i have to upgrade my 8gauge wires and all that other stuff too... so yea i think ill set it to a 4ohm load

i would upgrade your 8 guage to 4 guage anyway. i will never run an amp of 8 guage, no matter how small it is

x2 some people use 8 gauge as speaker wire. Including me FTW!

u never want distortion and clipping gettin to ur subs. Thatll damage them.

ok cool now i read somewhere that when u clip your subs that everything else is cliped like the HU and it stays clipped and will clip any new equipment added is this correct.. cause i think my stuff is clipped since amp was always maxxed out and HU was maxxed out till i found out about setting gains
