maybe her car had a faulty lock?

on my old mazda(91 626), you could unlock my drivers door with any key that fit into the keyhole. i didn't tell anyone until after i sold it. but it came in handy a few times when i locked my keys in my car, because i keep my spare house key in my wallet..
