How to install a hu? wiring harness

I am going to attempt to install a new h.u. in my mom's car. I bought her a wiring harness, head unit, metra kit, and I have the radio plug. My main concern is all of the wires that are on the wiring harness. I will be wiring this to a 94 buick park avenue. My question is, is there a place that shows me the basics as to how to wire this up? Where should I go to find hu installation instructions... I don't just match up color to color do I? Someone told me that I need to wire the dimmer switch to the orange wire or something liek that because its reversed on that car?? Help please

just use the instructions provided with the HU and the wiring harness. If your unsure about the dimmer wire, just leave it unhooked.
