how to install a capacitor

well, i bought a Kole 4k capacitor and im confused with their instructions.

anyone tell me how to install it ???

You said you found the right link, so I changed my post.

If you still need it....

Is it charged yet? If not take the fuse that comes with it and touch it to the positive of the cap to your battery positive until the fuse light goes out. Its charged....

To install it

Place it in your power wire somewhere just by cutting the power wire and attaching it to the positive of the cap. You will have two wire terminals on the positive of the cap, one from the battery and one to the amp or distro block.

A ground wire from the negitive to a ground.

Use the same ground gauge, seen a 12ga ground on a cap using 4 ga power.

1. Take the fuse out of the under-hood fuseholder

2. Put your power and ground wires on it

3. Run wires to the amplifier from the cap

4. Put a resistor in the fuseholder in place of a fuse until the cap reads 12V

5. Put fuse back in

Not if the - side of the cap isn't connected to anything...

you wouldn't happen to have one of those cheap test lights that look like a screwdriver. those work very good for charging caps!
