how to help electrical system

i have stock electrical system with 1000 watt system. have had major dimming issues. what can i do to prevent this and keep my battery running? would a cap help?

Look into the BIG 3 on here, upgrade to a bigger battery upfront, then go from there. And dont waste your time on caps. Pretty much just hides the issue at hand instead of solving it.

What gauge wiring are you using and times 2 on the big 3.

Thats good enough for 1000 watts, Do the big three and make sure your grounds are good and free of paint.

It's basically upgrading your under hood grounds and battery to alternator wire, Cheapest electrical upgrade you can do.

what car is it? maybe your gains are set too high causing the amps to clip (pull irregular voltage) thus causing excessive stress on your electrical system. how did you set your gains? with a multimeter I hope

that sounds like it could be the problem. i did not install my system my brother did buy im getting it redone with a dmm

it could be the gains. I've run 2400wrms with no dimming and had a little 300wrms amp dim the sh it out of my lights due to excessive clipping.

Is another one. It's pretty easy when you understand it.

Oh and by the way, Fuse the wire you add from battery to alternator. some people say it isn't necessary but no reason to chance your car over not installing a 10 dollar fuse holder.
