How to design a horn-loaded enclosure?

Just what the title states. I have a pair of MMATS P3.0 15's that I'm looking to use for house parties and for small to medium venue DJ gigs. I don't really need frequency response below 35-40hz or so, so I don't need the enclosure to be massive - but space isn't an issue. I just need these to sound decent and get stupid loud off of 2000 watts.

If anyone could hook me up with a good tutorial or possibly a good Pro Audio forum that discusses enclosure design I'd certainly appreciate it!

Those look pretty sick... but at 28 cubic feet a piece, I think I might have a bit of trouble carrying those around, let alone getting them in the bed of my truck!

JimJ, I'd think you would know something about horn design... Do you have anything more practical?

for large sound reinforcement enclosures, you'd better measure your truck capacity and go from there.

Yeah, that A7 is just about the size I'm looking for. Seems pretty interesting... the front wave is horn loaded and the rear wave is ported, correct? If so, that front-loaded horn seems tiny... I'm used to seeing rear-wave folded horn designs with huge ports - why is this one so different?

The reason I am really interested in doing a horn design is that I've been using a Yorkville LS800 for quite a few of my gigs, and that thing just slams.

It's output rivals that of many dual 18" ported PA subs off of more power. The only thing I don't like about it is it's poor low end extension - it drops off very sharply below about 45-50hz.

I'd like to build something similar to the Yorkville that has frequency response down to around 35hz, but still stays extremely efficient. If this project is too complicated, I will probably just go ported tuned to 40 or so, but I'd like to at least consider it, since that Yorkville is almost exactly what I'm looking for in a sub. I used a $2000 dual-18 JBL ported sub a few weekends ago off about 1000 watts and found them disappointing when compared to the Yorkville.
