How to build 6.5" to 8" adapter

How would I go about building an adapter so I can use two 8" free air subs in my rear deck?

I was thinking something like this:

I would make an adapter for the 6.5" to 8" mounting holes. Then I would make a spacer so the sub can move w/o hitting the rear deck.

Anyone ever done this or know where I can buy one?

All you need to do is cut some mdf and mount it under your rear deck. Make sure the hole is cut large enough that the surround doesn't rub the mdf and mount the sub below the mdf. Standard drywall screws should hold the sub up but you may want to bolt it through the mdf for an added measure of safety.

or a jig saw or router. cut the mdf to mount under the rear deck, I would make about the same size as the rear deck. Cut a couple of holes in it for the subs and mount them to the mdf from below.
