i had a quick question regarding swapping out new battery terminals. so here's a pic of the battery:

So i was thinking of adding this battery terminal: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=BT-104P

how do i hookup the factory wires to the new battery terminal? as you can see from the pic, the factory wires are basically crimped on pretty good onto the negative battery terminal. so what do i do with the factory wires to hook up to the new battern terminals? thanks in advance.

You have to cut the metal end off and insert into one of the ports on the terminal or add ring terminals to the factory wires and place them on the center ring terminal port of the terminal.

I have the same one...problem is when you have the Big Three, as well as factory wires and the power run your run out of places real quick. I would try to find some with more spaces...If not, upgrade your battery. My Optima Red top has side posts....they were life savers in my situation...

Using crimp ring terminals you can fit two on the center port (turn the first upside down and stack the second on top) That will get you 4 wires onto one terminal.

Get to napa or autozone, and pick up a set of brass 5/8" marine-style battery terminals.

They're $2.99 a set at autozone, and will hold any combo of 3 rings terminals. Mine are holing 3 1/0ga. wires each.

What about using the terminals and getting a distribution block for the pos and neg terminal. Then run one wire from the terminal to the dist. block and you have 2 left on the terminal and a possibility of 4 easily on the block. Wouldn't that work?

nice suggestion. I have never seen one that can hold 3 rings before.

Also a batt with top and side posts is great too. My red top has them so all my factory wiring fits on the side posts and all my audiowiring is on the top posts.

Ya, they're not super pretty or anything, but if it's going under the hood, or is installed discretely, it's a non-issue, and they're solid brass, so the connection's as good as anything.

I thought of using the side-post terminals too, but i think the bolts are bigger than ordinary set-screw rings, and drilling them out is a PITA!
