How should I mount my tweeters?

I've got a set of hertz mlk 165's.

Mid bass drivers are going in custom door pods.

where should they be aimed? Slightly angled toward the rear?

I've heard its good to bounce the tweeters off the window, so I had one of these aim-ings mind, which do you think I should do?

is it possible to hold a tweeter while its playing and listen to it? so I could see what it sounds like before I mount it? or is that like touching a subwoofer while its playing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I was going to mount the tweets at the top of the A pillar, that seem good?

any help or advice is appreciated //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I hope your pictures have the tweeters at the bottom of the A pillar and not at the top. It looks as though they're at the top, but I could see it going either way. Putting them all the way up would create some mad timing/staging issues. BTW, I've got my tweeters aimed toward the listeners in the sail panels.

I read that its better to have the tweeters facing the windshield instead of going directly toward the listeners....at least thats what they said at SSA.com

The farther 'off axis' I have the tweeters, the greater timing problems will be, right? If I get a deck with time alignment, will that fix the timing issues and allow me to mount the tweeters at the top? Or is it just straight out better to mount them at the bottom of the A pillar?

I'd say at the bottom of the A-pillar would be better. Otherwise, your stage is going to be too high. But, maybe you like a really high stage. It's really all up to you. If you get a deck with TA, you need to get one that also has active capabilities and run the components actively. That way you can adjust the TA between the woofer and the tweeter as well.

windshields give bad reflextions.
Can anyone else vouch for this?

should I aim the tweet on the driver's side at the passenger and the tweet on the passenger's side at the driver? so they criss cross in the middle?

they came with 'small chambers' and 'large chambers', if space is not an issue, are the larger chambers better? whats the difference between them? which would you choose?

is it OK to temporarily mount the tweeters with double sided tape (putting it on the back of the chamber and attaching it to the a pillar)? So I can get an idea of where I should mount them.

You should be fine mounting the tweeters temporarily with double sided tape as long as you use one of the chambers or mounting cups for them. I don't think I'd put the tape directly on the back of the tweeter though... I've got mine "permanently" mounted with 3M trim molding tape. It holds like no other.
